Charlene has been a member of the W2O Board of Directors since April 2017, bringing executive management thinking and business-building skills from her 30 years in the healthcare industry. Charlene’s motto is “make it happen,” and she has followed it to great entrepreneurial success. She built strong agencies, then sold them—both times—to one of the world’s leading advertising holding companies, Omnicom, where Charlene gained enterprise-wide perspective and expertise, encouraging collaboration between diverse agencies and people to enhance the integrated offering.
Throughout her career, Charlene’s strengths in strategic thinking, digital innovation, risk-taking,and creativity and her passion for culture have won her many awards and honors. Charlene was named to the 2006 inaugural edition of PharmaVOICE 100, a list of the 100 most inspiring people in the life-sciences industry. In 2010 and 2004, Charlene received the HBA STAR (Strategic Transformation Achievement Recognition)award, the only person ever to receive it twice.In 2013, she received the Women’s Venture Fund’s Highest Leaf Award and SmartCEO’s Brava Award. In 2014, she was named “Person of the Year”by Med Ad News and received SmartCEO’s Luminary Award. Most notably, in 2019, Charlene was inducted into the Medical Advertising Hall of Fame.
Charlene also believes in giving back and serves on the board of two nonprofits: the City University of New York:Queensborough Community College Fund Board and The Floating Hospital Fund Board.
